Meet the Team!
Chair - BP_Serene
Hi, my name is Steph. this is my third year volunteering for the UK PonyCon committee. I've been collecting My Little Pony for about 5 years now and have about 500 ponies. My love for them, like most collectors, started when I was little. I have very fond memories of brushing my ponies' hair and playing with them in Dream Castle.
Now, my favourite aspect of collecting MLP is the community. We are a very friendly group of people who love to get together and celebrate all things pony-related!
I love going to UK PonyCon as it's such a fun-filled day and it's a great opportunity to expand on your collection and meet new enthusiasts. I am really looking forward to PonyCon 2011, the convention just seems to improve every year!
Hoping to meet you soon! -bp_serene x

Hi, My name is Anna. I got my first pony, Blossom, when I was 3 years old. My ponies werecarefully stored away in the attic for many years, until I descovered that they might be worth something, and started to sell them off. I have just 8 of my childhood ponies left now, but they are the stars of my collection. Of course I quickly regretted selling them, and have now recollected the same ones, plus around 800 new friends for them!!
Ponies for me are a form of stress relief. When I pick up a pony I am transported back to my childhood, a time where there was no stress or pressure.
Having been involved with Ponycon since its first year, I have met many wonderful people, many of whom have become very close friends. To me it's all about meeting new people who love the same things I do -ponies! Adding to my collection is a huge bonus too
Events Co-Ordinator – Archer
Hi, I'm Archer, occasionally known as Victoria but rather rarely I must say. Ponies have always been a part of my life due to me never actually growing up and therefore never reaching the stage where I sold my childhood ones off. However I really started collecting way back in 2003 after finding the website Dream Valley, and realising that there were hundreds of them out there. That website coupled with Ebay really kickstarted my collecting when I bought Sunspot and the rest as they say is history.
I've been attending Ponycon since the very first back in 2004 and have thus far been to every single one, and have also been in costume to every single one too. Nothings more fun than being at Ponycon dressed as a pony ^_^. I've also helped out on numerous occasions and find the whole event a really rewarding thing to be involved with. Plus it's a whole load of fun and the people you meet there are absolutely epic in every possible way.
Events Assistant - BabyCottonCandy
I am Jess (otherwise known as Babycottoncandy or mittens depending on what board you are on) and I first joined the committee in 2009!
As a child my absolute favourite toy was My Little Pony and as a part of a family of natural hoarders I was lucky enough that they went into storage when I hit an age I no longer favoured them. That was until many years later when I found the wonder that is eBay and looked them up with the intention of seeing if they were worth anything. I was overwhelmed by feelings of nostalgia and re-found my love of My Little Pony. I started buying ones that I had always wanted as a child and my collection spiralled from there! No matter how many ponies I get, my childhood Gusty will always be my favourite.
As someone who attended PonyCon long before I started to help organise it I can honestly say it was a real highlight of my year! PonyCon offers you the opportunity to meet with people from all over the globe who you share an interest, and have truly enjoyable day filled to the brim with games, competitions, demonstrations and of course shopping!! I feel very proud to now be involved in making that fun happen and at the same time knowing that we are helping some truly deserving causes in the process. It really is an experience not to be missed!
Fundraising Co-Ordinator - MLPLaura
Hi there! My name is Laura and this is my first year volunteering for the committee. I have attended PonyCon every year since 2007 when it was held in Bristol .. how time flies when you’re having fun!
Now, a little bit about me. I am a degree student currently studying Professional Production Skills (it sounds fancy, but it basically involves me playing with a lot of lighting and sound equipment for the large majority of the day) but I am also trained in Animal Management, maybe that’s why all my ponies are so well behaved! :) Apart from ponies my other loves include theatre, giraffes and Kiwis. The bird that is, not the fruit.
I love coming to PonyCon every year as it is such a fantastic opportunity to network with other collectors and meet new people, many of which have become some of my best friends. I must say that pony collectors are amongst the kindest people I have ever met so I never feel awkward or nervous coming to PonyCon, like I do with a lot of other conventions. Everyone just makes me feel so welcome!
So, if this is your first time coming to PonyCon … WELCOME! Do come and find me and talk to me, I love to meet new people and help them feel at home at the convention. I’m sure I’ll be flitting around throughout the day so please do come and say hi! :)
Fundraising Assistant - Reaperfox
Hey guys! I'm Selena, otherwise known as 'Reaperfox' on just about every forum you'll find. Like Laura, this is my first year volunteering for the committee, but I've collected ponies my whole life and have attended pony meets and conventions around the world. I appeared on BBC's 'I Love Toys' back in 2003 (to my shame! I could do that interview a lot better now!) and have been active in the pony collecting community online since 1994 - anyone else remember Dream Valley Chat? Or when the MLPTP was black and pink?
PonyCon is fantastic. Through the years, it has shaped itself into becoming one of the most funfilled and exciting dates on my calendar. It's not just about the toys themselves, or networking with other collectors; it's a moment out of the monotony in which we can have a laugh and remember the sheer joy that collecting little plastic ponies can bring. For a day, you can be among others who share that passion and joy and nostalgia. Cheesy? You betcha. Silly? Of course! But my word, you guys, it's fun!
